Opsview open source monitoring

leave a comment »

I’ve struggled with the lack of decent open source monitoring for quite some time now.  Ok.  Yes.  Nagios.  I know.

I need monitoring with a UI that doesn’t make my eyes bleed.  Nagios might as well be a daemon with no UI.  This is where Opsview is genius.  They’ve built a great multi-user configuration and status UI on top of the nagios backend, and they’ve packaged it up for painless install and upgrades.

I love these guys.  I don’t need any of their enterprise features, but I’m inclined to send them some money anyway just for doing such a great job.
